Booklist 2008
This year I'm not doing the 50+ challenge, i want to focus on quality rather than quantity in 2008. And I might try to say a few words about a book when I finish this time around, more for memory than anything else... alas, it seems at times the old noggin is already stewing over with too many stored words.

1 The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle - Haruki Murakami
2 The World According to Garp - John Irving
3 Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman - Haruki Murakami
4 Pere Goriot - Honore de Balzac
5 The Big Sleep - Raymond Chandler
6 Candide - Voltaire*
7 Neuromancer - William Gibson
8 The Centaur - John Updike
9 Kafka on the Shore - Haruki Murakami
10 Narcissus and Goldmund - Hermann Hesse
11 Slouching Towards Bethleham - Joan Didion
12 After Dark - Haruki Murakami
13 Gun with Occaisonal Music - Jonathan Letham
14 On Boxing - Joyce Carol Oates
15 Selected Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke - edited Harry T. Moore
16 Queen of Fashion; What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution - Caroline Weber
17 Parable of the Sower - Octavia Butler
18 N.P. - Banana Yoshimoto
19 Hardboiled & Hardluck - Banana Yoshimoto

haha you never know when you'll need to have the geographic layout of Africa handy it's good to have that lying around the brainpan xD though i expect that will give way to some other equally random bit of knowledge in the future. And sadly here I am four books into the list and I haven't forced myself to write a word about them! Well, you've inspired me, I think i'll try to do it tonight (:

ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be.

Catch 22 is so good... ahhh and it's so funny - i wasn't expecting it to make me laugh aloud (or at all...)

I don't think it's anything established... A friend of mine challenged herself to read at least 50+ books last year, I tried as well though I only managed to read 41.
